Title IX, effective August 14, 2020, including but not limited to §106.45(b)(1)(iii) and §106.45(b)(10)(i)(D), requires schools’ Title IX personnel to be unbiased and free from conflicts of interest. Current Title IX personnel include the Title IX coordinator(s), any investigator, any decision-maker, any person who facilitates an informal resolution, and those deciding appeals. Title IX Core Team members receive annual training, organized by the Title IX Coordinator, including a review of the University policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws and regulations so that they are able to provide accurate information to members of the community, protect safety, and promote accountability. This training will include but is not limited to: How to appropriately remedy, investigate, render findings, conduct hearing panels and determine appropriate sanctions in reference to all forms of harassment and discrimination allegations; the University policy on Equal Opportunity, Harassment and Nondiscrimination; confidentiality and privacy; and applicable laws, regulations and federal regulatory guidance.
Per new Title IX Regulations, effective August 1, 2024, trainings for Title IX personnel occurring after August 1, 2024, are available for review upon request to the Title IX Coordinator (titleix@stfrancis.edu).
