The Ductilcrete Logistics Institute at USF (formerly the USF Intermodal Transportation Institute) is an academic center providing a base of knowledge on the intermodal transportation industry. It is committed to providing areas of academic research to benefit the Will County Inland Port, public and private industry entities and university students. It provides a politically neutral, epicenter of information and guidance for this growing and vital industry. It complements current economic and industry support centers. It serves as an outreach for the USF College of Business and Health Administration.

Location

USF is located approximately 35 miles southwest of Chicago in Will County, Ill., home to one of the largest transportation hubs in North America. Public officials, business leaders and community advocates alike have acknowledged the significance of the transportation/logistics industry growth that has occurred in Will County. With its concentration of transportation assets, industrial base and growing distribution function, Will County has taken shape as an Inland Port in the past decade. Will County’s multi-modal transportation network includes: six Class I Railroads (BNSF, UP, CSX, CN, NS & IC), Interstates 80, 55, 57 & 355, an active inland waterway route, and a well-developed regional trail system.
