Basic Needs Support Services & Resources

Are you a USF student who does not have safe and/or permanent housing, is struggling to pay rent, or does not have consistent access to food?  You are not alone. USF is here to help.

The State of Illinois in 2022 enacted Illinois’s Public Act 102-0083 the Higher Education Housing and Opportunities Act.  This act requires all colleges and universities in Illinois to have a HOUSE Liaison (Housing and Opportunities that are Useful for Students’ Excellence).

The University of St. Francis’s goal is to intervene for students that are experiencing homelessness and in need of support and resources as outlined in Public Act 102-0083. The university aim is to offer assistance and resources to students experiencing homelessness when enrolled at the institution. Support services include, but not limited to financial aid, on-campus housing, food and meal plan programs, and counseling services, and other resources and any other relevant information to assist these students.

In an effort to provide support to our students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, the university has designated contacts to assist enrolled students to address barriers to their success and college retention. We are invested in providing resources to meet the needs of our students holistically.
