Joliet, Ill. – University of St. Francis (USF) announced that its Day of Giving on March 3, 2026 was successful, raising funds for strategic initiatives including the expansion of athletics and the addition of men’s volleyball. The day-long campaign demonstrated the strength of the USF community and its shared commitment to educational access and opportunity.
Funds raised on Day of Giving will directly support student success initiatives across the university’s colleges, helping to reduce financial barriers and strengthen retention. The outpouring of support reflects the university’s Franciscan mission and its emphasis on community, service, and care for others.
“This remarkable display of generosity speaks to the deep connection our alumni, friends, and partners feel toward the University of St. Francis,” said Dr. Ryan C. Hendrickson, president of USF. “Every gift, regardless of size, contributes to meaningful opportunities for our students.”
The momentum of the Day of Giving continued as USF convened its newly formed President’s Community Advisory Group. The advisory group brings together community leaders to provide counsel, strengthen partnerships, and advance the university’s role as a vital educational and economic anchor in the region.
Members of the advisory group will offer strategic insight, advocate for the university within the broader community, and collaborate with university leadership to identify opportunities that enhance student outcomes and regional engagement.
“The formation of this advisory group reinforces our commitment to collaboration,” Hendrickson added. “Together, we are ensuring that the University of St. Francis remains responsive to community needs while staying rooted in our Catholic and Franciscan values.”
The success of the Day of Giving and the launch of the President’s Community Advisory Group together underscore USF’s dedication to partnership, stewardship, and student-centered impact.
