USF Science Fellows Program

Overview of the Program

The Science Fellows program involves undergraduates in research with faculty, tutoring other science students, and working as laboratory assistants.

Fellows are also strongly encouraged to do independent research either at USF or another institution. These experiences will give Fellows a competitive edge on the job market or for post-baccalaureate study in graduate/professional school.

  • First-Year Fellows are awarded $3,000 per year in exchange for five (5) hours of work per week in the department
  • Sophomore, Junior and Senior Fellows are awarded $3,000 per year in exchange for six (6) hours of work per week in the department.
  • Currently, only 18 Fellowships are available, meaning the awards are prestigious, but also limited. If you are not able to secure a Fellowship, you may be put on a wait list.
