The Science Fellows program involves undergraduates in research with faculty, tutoring other science students, and working as laboratory assistants. Freshman Fellows are awarded $3,000 per year in exchange for five (5) hours of work per week in the department (Six (6) hours/week for sophomores, juniors, and seniors). Fellows are also strongly encouraged to do independent research either at USF or at another institution. These experiences will give Fellows a competitive edge on the job market or for post-baccalaureate study in graduate/professional school.
To be eligible for this program, you must be a science major (Biology, Biochemistry, Biology Secondary Ed), you must first qualify as a Presidential, Trustee or Franciscan Fellows Scholar, and participate in USF’s Scholarship Competition, held each year in February.
