Leach College of Nursing Graduates Achieve 100% First-Time NCLEX Pass Rate

Joliet, Ill. – USF’s Leach College of Nursing (LCON) is celebrating an outstanding achievement after its nursing graduates recorded a 100% first-time pass rate on the NCLEX during the second quarter.

The results reflect the dedication and perseverance of LCON graduates and the commitment of USF’s faculty, administrators and staff to prepare students for successful careers in nursing.

The National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX, is a required licensing examination for nursing graduates seeking to enter professional practice. Passing the examination is a significant milestone as graduates transition from academic preparation to serving patients, families and communities as licensed nurses.

“This achievement reflects the hard work of our graduates, as well as the strong commitment of our faculty and staff to student success. It is a meaningful measure of the quality of our BSN program and, more importantly, of our graduates’ readiness to enter the nursing profession. We are proud of them and excited to see the difference they will make in our communities,” said Dr. Yeijin Yeom, dean of Leach College of Nursing.

Faculty and administrators played an important role in supporting students throughout their nursing education, providing the knowledge, skills and clinical preparation needed to meet the demands of the nursing profession. “This significant achievement is no surprise. It reflects the tremendous dedication of our nursing faculty, staff and administrators, who work tirelessly to support our hard-working students,” said Dr. Elizabeth McDermott, provost.

LCON congratulates its graduates on this significant achievement and recognizes the faculty, administrators and staff whose dedication contributed to their success.

As they begin their careers, these graduates will carry with them the knowledge, skills and compassion developed through their nursing education — helping advance the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
