I’ve had a life rich in human experiences. From life in a small village in the northwestern Amazon forest, to assisting refugees in central Asia, to raising three kids as a single father, to practicing neurology and psychiatry as a physician assistant. I graduated from USF’s PA program in 2006 and began teaching here part time since 2008, finally joining the core faculty full time in 2020. My philosophy of medicine is one of healing of human beings and not just of identifying and treating disease. My goal for each student is that they build a life they can enjoy and be proud of. It is the same goal I have for my team members and ultimately myself as well.
I direct the courses in Behavioral Medicine & Neurosciences and the course series on Internal Medicine and its specialties. I also co-direct the course series in Clinical Assessment, and serve in an advisory role for students in academics, professionalism and the capstone project.
