University Mourns Loss of Trustee Emerita Patricia Wheeler ’67
It is with profound sadness that the University of St. Francis shares the news of the passing of alumna Patricia S. Wheeler ’67 on November 4.
Pat, a University of St. Francis Board of Trustees trustee emerita, served the board from 1999–2024. Her contributions continue to impact university life daily.
Pat and her husband, Bob, were co-chairs of USF’s Capital Campaign from 2005 to 2009. Pat’s financial gifts resulted in the naming of the James and Patricia Sexton Auditorium, named after her parents.
Later, the Wheeler Family Foundation provided the funding to infuse the College of Business curriculum with Franciscan values, with the goal of producing students and business leaders who emulate those values in their work and across their lives. The foundation continues to support the university in many ways today.
Pat had a profound love for the university’s Catholic and Franciscan mission. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Wheeler family and all who knew and loved Pat.
